The College has a scenic location on Port Kembla Peninsula between Port Kembla Beach and Fishermans Beach ajoining Port Kembla Scenic Lookout and Hill 60 Park. The College has expansive ocean views over The Five Islands.
The College is located on the corner of Military Rd and Gloucester Rd.

Col Harris College Principal
Col Harris has taken up the position of Principal of the College this year.
He was most recently the principal at Oak Flats High School and prior to this was principal at the Bankstown Senior College.
He was previously at the College as Deputy Principal from 1998 to 2002.
Industry Training College

Over five million dollars of refurbishment is nearing completion with the construction of the Illawarra Training Centre – Port Kembla at the Illawarra Senior College. Stage 1 was completed in 2010 and involved the provision of an industry standard Hospitality kitchen. Stage 2 involves the completion of a Construction and Metals Engineering facility. The Metals area will be completed in July 2011. The Construction area will be opened in Term 4 2011. These facilities are first class and not available in any other high school in the Illawarra region.
Year 10 and the School Certificate

From 2012 students completing Year 10 will be enrolled in the NSW Board of Studies School Certificate course. Students studying in the college will complete the same course as other Year 10 students. The major difference in the course at the college is that the students will be able to study at the same time a vocational education course. The course will count towards the School Certificate and provide a dual credential with a Certificate I in the course studied. This certificate will assist students in gaining employment, starting an apprenticeship or traineeship, attending TAFE or studying for the HSC. Students interested in finding out more about the course should contact the Enrolment Officer at the College.
2012 Enrolements

From 16th January 2012 the Staff will be avaliable to take Phone Enquiries and Enrolments.
Four Day Week

Since 2003 the College has been operating a 4 day study week.This has proved popular with students who have been able to meet their course requirements and complete part time work or a school based traineeship on the fifth day.
